"The 06:30 Antalya Bus Briefing Names The 1,400-Metre Switchback As The Day The 2026 Tour Of Turkey Will Be Won Or Lost" — Stage 6 Feslıkan Saturday-Morning Race-Day Briefing, Sosa 4/9 Outright Defending 12 Seconds, MGM Holds 11°C Summit, Cofidis Stack Champoussin And Martin Into A Two-Rider Morning-Break Relay

Saturday morning Antalya. Five hours from the 11:35 flag drop on the Konyaaltı Boulevard, the Tour of Turkey 2026 Stage 6 to Feslıkan has settled into a Saturday-morning briefing that confirms the operational template Kern Pharma sport director Mikel Astarloza walked through Wednesday's recon. Ivan Sosa 4/9 outright defends a 12-second margin over Sergio Samitier; Astarloza's brief is to ride the Kern Pharma four-rider chase template wheel-to-wheel through 11km of the climb and let Sosa make the decision at the second switchback above the 1,400-metre line — the number Astarloza set during Wednesday morning's closing recon.

The 127.9km route from Antalya to Feslıkan opens with 92.4km of valley road on the Antalya-Burdur main highway before turning right at Bağsaray onto the closing 35.5km Feslıkan ascent. The climb's lower 14km is open through farmland at 4.6% — the section Cofidis sport director Cédric Vasseur has confirmed at the 06:15 bus briefing as the section Champoussin and Martin will use to act as relay-drops for the morning break. The middle 11km from the 1,200m line is the working section, two switchbacks at 1,400m and 1,650m the GC pivots, the closing 10.5km from the 1,650m line averaging 7.9% across two scenic switchbacks before the 2,200m summit and the line on the Feslıkan plateau.

MGM 06:00 Saturday-morning bulletin holds the Friday-evening forecast: 24°C valley start at Antalya, 11°C summit at Feslıkan, a 13-degree thermal swing that is the largest of the spring calendar except for Vuelta a Andalucía Stage 4 (15-degree). South-westerly tailwind force-2 on the lower slopes, switching to a north-westerly headwind force-1 on the closing 6km from the 1,650m switchback. Zero precipitation, broken cloud breaking to sunshine on the closing 8km of the climb. The thermal swing is the operational variable: Kern Pharma's 06:00 medical brief confirms Sosa rides Antalya-temperatures gel pack on his core-temperature monitor through the closing 12km — a template Astarloza ran through Wednesday's recon to model the closing-3km core-temperature curve.

Cofidis's two-rider morning-break stack — Champoussin and Martin — is the day's tactical pivot. Champoussin will roll into the morning break at km 8 of the valley section, hold the break on the lower 14km of the climb at 4.6%, then drop to relay Paret-Peintre at the 1,200m line. Martin will bridge to the front of the break at km 38 in the valley, hold it through the 1,200m line and 1,400m switchback, then drop to relay Teuns at the 1,650m switchback — a relay template that gives Cofidis 35 seconds of relay help on the closing 6km. Anyone who beats Sosa's 49:50 from 2024 without 35 seconds of relay help will be the GC winner.

Movistar sport director Pablo Lastras has briefed Rubio at 06:15 to ride a stage-hunt template that does not engage with the GC fight at all — Rubio's brief is to ride the morning break with the explicit instruction to drop on the 1,400m switchback rather than engage with the closing 8km, a template that pays a stage rather than a top-10 GC. Movistar's stage-hunt template at the Tour of Turkey has paid two stages in the last three editions and is the operational reason the team has not engaged with the GC defence on the lower slopes.

Intermarché-Wanty's sport director Aike Visbeek has briefed Biniam Girmay at 06:00 to ride a non-engaging recovery day from his Friday third place at Eschborn-Frankfurt — Girmay is on a controlled valley-section ride and will roll into the gruppetto at the 1,200m line. Visbeek's Saturday-morning press briefing confirms Girmay's NSN Cycling 2027 calendar conversation will not need a Feslıkan ramp ride.

Picnic PostNL sport director Matt Winston has briefed Casper van Uden after his Friday Stage 5 sprint win at Kemer to ride a similar gruppetto-template Saturday — the team's 2026 WorldTour points conversation does not need van Uden on the Feslıkan ramp. The peloton enters Saturday with 27 of 154 riders confirmed to ride the gruppetto from the 1,200m line, the largest gruppetto of the race and the largest of any Tour of Turkey final-mountain stage in the last six editions.

Tour of Turkey race director Abdurrahman Açıkalın confirmed at the Friday 22:30 press briefing that the 2027 calendar slot moves forward by a week to mid-April to avoid the Tour de Romandie clash. The 2027 announcement is the strategic conversation Açıkalın is running through the closing two days of the race — and Saturday's Feslıkan ramp is the day the 2026 Tour of Turkey is decided.

Flag drop 11:35, KOM 1,400m switchback at 14:42, KOM 1,650m switchback at 15:08, line on the Feslıkan plateau at 15:34. Sosa's 49:50 from 2024 the Saturday-morning benchmark.
