Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe Confirm The 2026 Giro d'Italia Roster — Roglič Returns To His Best Race With Two Former Winners And A 2024 Runner-Up Stacked Behind Him

Wednesday afternoon Raubling. Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe have confirmed the 2026 Giro d'Italia eight, and the depth of the line-up is the headline number: Primož Roglič leads, joined by 2022 winner Jai Hindley, 2024 runner-up Daniel Martínez, last year's revelation Giulio Pellizzari, plus Giovanni Aleotti, Jan Tratnik, Gianni Moscon and Nico Denz. Three former Grand Tour podium finishers in a single eight is the most stacked single-team Giro card the bookmakers have published since the 2008 CSC squad.

Roglič's selection was the press-call headline. The 36-year-old Slovenian, who has now spoken openly about 2026 being "very likely my last Grand Tour-leading year," targets a second Giro after his 2023 Bocca di Selva summit win. The build has been deliberately patient: Tirreno-Adriatico in March (eighth overall, two top-fives on stages), the Volta a Catalunya in late March (a top-ten, no team-leading effort), and a closed-door altitude camp at Sierra Nevada through April. Roglič himself said, "I feel I have one more in me at this race — and Italy is where I have always been the strongest."

Daniel Martínez is the second-listed leader. The Colombian, second to Tadej Pogačar at the 2024 Giro, returns to the race after skipping the 2025 edition for a Tour-only programme. Sport director Enrico Poitschke set out the dual-leader stance at the press call: "Primož is our captain — but Dani is also here as a leader. If something goes wrong for Primož on the road, we have the second card and we will play it." It is the same model the team rode at the 2023 Vuelta — and the same model that delivered Sepp Kuss the maglia roja for Visma.

Jai Hindley is the third Grand Tour podium finisher in the eight, and the most experienced super-domestique in the modern peloton. The Australian, who won the 2022 Giro from a closing-week ambush on the Marmolada, has rebuilt around a domestique role since his transfer to Red Bull in 2024. In 2026 his job is to get Roglič to the final 5km of every selective summit — the role Tratnik and Moscon will then take over for the closing kilometres. Hindley's name on the start list is a serious tactical lever: he is the rider who, if Martínez and Roglič are both in trouble, can win the race himself.

Giulio Pellizzari is the maglia azzurra ace. The 22-year-old Italian, who finished sixth overall at last year's Giro and outclassed every U23 rider in the peloton on the Stelvio, is the team's bid for the white jersey and is also a serious stage threat on the Stage 16 Mortirolo and Stage 20 Sestriere. The bookmakers have him at 4/1 for the maglia azzurra — the shortest pre-race young-rider price the team have ever set — and 25/1 for an unlikely top-five GC finish.

Giovanni Aleotti, Jan Tratnik, Gianni Moscon and Nico Denz make up the support. Tratnik and Moscon are the late-mountain pacers — both have been doing the same job for Roglič since the 2020 Tour, and both have the resilience for a stage-on-stage GC-pacing block. Aleotti is the medium-mountain road-captain; Denz, who won three breakaway stages at the 2023 Giro, gets a free hand on the transitional Stages 5, 7, 14 and 18 if the GC group sits up.

The betting market has reacted sharply. Roglič has shortened from 8/1 outright to 6/1 over the last forty-eight hours; Martínez has shortened from 33/1 to 16/1 on the dual-leader confirmation. Pellizzari has shortened from 8/1 for the maglia azzurra to 4/1, and the team itself is 11/4 for an outright stage-or-better, the second-shortest team price in the field after Visma-Lease a Bike's evens.

The squad flies to Bulgaria together on Friday morning ahead of the Stage 1 Sofia bunch finish. The team's pre-race press call is scheduled for Saturday at 14:00 local time at the Hilton Sofia, with Roglič, Martínez and Pellizzari all on the panel. The Giro starts at 13:30 Sunday afternoon.
